Known as Valor-Arte and later as Galería Slato, the gallery moved from their gallery in Orinoco Avenue in Las Mercedes to Altamira in the 1990s and is conveniently located in front of the Plaza Altamira.

From the 1980’s until Huri Slato’s retirement in 2003,  It housed over a hundred auctions, 40 + exhibitions featuring Latin American and European artists, advised many top collectors nationally and in the early 1990’s was also one of the founding galleries for the very famous Feria Iberoamericana de Arte (FIA) and participated for many editions in Caracas. 

 

This space was a gallery for secondary market artworks and and auction house, representing only an handful of the best Contermporary artists their time.
